Yes, I Can Read

As started earlier, Nails and I are reading whole books now. The last book I finished was maybe the best thing I have ever read. Dixieland Delight by Clay Travis was simply amazing. I literally could not put it down. Nails called me a homo because I could not stop reading it . The almost 400 pages flew by in 3 or 4 days because it was so good. The book tells of Travis' travels to each SEC school during one football season. In the funniest way imaginable, he told of southern tradition. Traditions like good looking southern women, cold beer, good food, southern hospitality, and obviously football. A lawyer from Tennessee, Travis had a connection with someone at each school, and went to each game with no tickets, and no plan. In the book he tells of his different experiences, good and bad, and ranks the different schools in different categories. Clearly in his South Carolina trip he went to Sticky Fingers in Chucktown where he was amazed at the availability of Mello Yello, and the tastiness of the ribs. This is hard is write because I loved the book so much , it is hard to say too much about it . To recap, it's about the south, the ladies, booze, and football, in the funniest way imaginable. Read this book ASAP.

As some of you may know Bambi and I are not the biggest bookworms in the world.  However, like Bambi previously stated we are expanding our horizons and actually reading some books.  My first full book, victory as I like to call it, was Lance Armstrong's It's Not About The Bike.  This book was all about how he came back from nut cancer and killed the Tour.  Since I am all about this stupid marathon, which is kicking my ass, this was an inspirational read and has kept me motivated.  All-in-all, good damn book and yall should scoop it up.

Ten Things I Think I Think- 2-24-08

Hello guys and gals. It's good to be coming to you from home today. I am a little pressed for time , which is revealing of the way things have been going for me lately. Let's get to it .

1. I', busy. The combination of work and school and more work have begun to take a toll on me . I am already looking forward to spring break as a time to catch my breath.

2. College Basketball is awesome. As if there was ever any doubt. Last night's 1 vs. 2 battle was amazing , with tickets going for $ 1600 a pop. March Madness is just around the corner and I cannot wait.

3. I am pretty excited about getting a new computer . Anna and I will be making our first big purchase as a couple.

4. Darla is afraid of the water , and that is going to be a problem. On her first trip to the beach yesterday, she took a huge dump, made a sand castle, got some sun, and refused to step in the water. Anna was convinced she would like it , so she threw her into the artic waters. Darla is not allowed at Anna'a house anymore.

5. Nails is really getting into the marathon thing. Keep up the good work Nails.

6. The Shoe Box will begin having book reviews this week. This is a reflection of Nails and I expanding out horizons and starting to read . . books !

7. Had fun this week going to to Remedies with the Sticky Crew. Good to be back.

8. Anna and I continue to fall more in love every day. We are currently 10 months and 3 days away from the rest of our lives.

9. Mad props to to Coastal Carolina this week for not allowing me to intern at a school that has given me a job . Thank you Dean for being so helpful in not allowing your student to have a job.

10. I miss football. Recruiting season is now over, and the NFL combine is not for me . April 19 is the spring game for my Gamecocks, less than 2 months away !

Stay tuned to The Shoe Box this week. Readers, leave us some love !
